Here are 3 reasons why we can trust God…
1) He is GOOD
We can always trust that God’s plans are good and good for us.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
There is no one else on earth, including you, that has better plans for your life than God does. There is no one else who is for your success more than God. There is no one else that has more love for you than God. I really want you to think about that for a moment. Let this thought sink in…God has better plans for your life than you do. God is for you not against you! He wants to see you succeed in life. God’s plans are good and for your greatest good. Though things do not always turn out the way we think they will or maybe even hoped they would, His plans will always lead us to our very best life in Christ! God knows exactly what we need, when we need it, and how we need it. Know this…God wants you to succeed more than you want to succeed. He is more passionate about your ability than you are about your ability. Tap into God’s power and His provision in order to live a successful life. Always acknowledge and lean on His ways and His paths for your life!
2) He is SOVEREIGN
God is in control. He is never confused, never stumped, and never taken by surprised. The Bible says He is omniscient…which means “all knowing.” The truth is, that He holds your future in His hands. You can always trust that God will lead and guide you in the right way. He will never guide you to where He won’t provide for you. He will never call you to something that He won’t give you the ability to accomplish. The peace that Jesus offers us is so much deeper than just self help techniques to manage stress. It is the SETTLED CONVICTION that goes down to the core of our being when we begin to believe that ALL things are truly in God’s hands. His Sovereignty is greater than our frailty. In order to know the peace that God gives we must know the Kingship of who He is. A King is not subject to the people, he is not controlled by democracy. A King rules from his throne. The Kingdom of God is not by the people, it is by the King. The great news is that God is the GREAT King who rules with love and justice.
3) He is FAITHFUL
Too many times we tend to forget what God has done for us in the past. We get so caught up in the moment that the remembrance of His faithfulness can sometimes fade away. One of the greatest ways to lose faith is to forget how He has come through before. We can’t allow ourselves to let the present obstacles steal His past faithfulness. If God came through before, He can do it again. I have to admit that I have been driving to my in-laws house for almost 11 years now, and I just finally got there on my own not too long ago. They live in the backroads of the country and every time we have driven there I am either talking, thinking, or listening. I rely on my wife to tell my each and every turn (and there are a lot). I was so proud the first time I made it without having to ask. I always forgot the turns each time we went out there. Just like I forgot the turns and wouldn’t have been able to get to my in-laws house, we too can forget what God has done for us and are in danger of missing His faithfulness. The Bible encourages us to always remember and to speak of the faithfulness of God. Why does it say this? So we never FORGET how amazing God is.
