Did you know God wants to reveal His plans and purposes for your life? He desires to speak to you and show you the paths that you should travel in order to fulfill your destiny. He even has something to say about the exact situation you are currently facing. What an amazing God we serve that He would be so interested in talking to us. The God of the universe wants to converse with you and I. What a huge honor to be included in God’s overall design for relationship.
We were created for conversation. We were created to communicate with our Creator. Remember Adam and Even in the garden––God talked to them. He gave them instruction and insight on what to do and how to do it. It’s in the nature of God to dialogue with His creation. We see this communication trend all throughout the timeline of the Bible. God is always talking with His creation. He is always directing and intimately involved in every situation that happens. And He is still in a relationship with us just as it was for the heroes of the faith. He didn’t stop doing what He’s always done. The stories we live out today are just as important as the stories we read about in His Word, they just aren’t recorded as was. And your story is just as important to God as Moses’, Jonah’s, Paul’s, and John’s, and all the others we’ve been inspired by. He wants to be in communication with you more than you can imagine.
“We were created for conversation.”
God is not a silent God––He is a God of conversation.
Proverbs 2:6
“For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
The ability to intelligently communicate is what makes us uniquely human. It’s what separates us from all other creation. The word communicate actually comes from the Greek word koy-no-neh’-o. It means “to have fellowship with, or to be in harmony with.” This is where we get the word community. The word communicate also has the Latin word uni, meaning, to be one with. Whatever we communicate is what we come into community with, or become one with. This is why God desires to communicate with us––He wants us to be one with Him.
The more you talk to God the more He’ll tell you. Make sure you are spending time communicating with your Creator each and every day. In fact, why don’t you go ahead and do it now? See ya!
I recently read a great book about hearing God’s voice called, Whisper: How to Hear the Voice of God by Mark Batterson. I highly recommend you getting a copy, check out it on Amazon here…
