Yesterday my Pastor, Chris Page @ Hoosier Harvest Church made a statement that I think was brilliant. He said, “Many people want to follow Jesus until they find out where He is going.”
That statement hit me. Sometimes we say we want to do what God wants us to do, but that really isn’t the issue is it? The real issue is are we willing to do what God wants us to do. Everyone wants to do what’s right. Everyone wants their life to be significant. The problem is not our desire, but our dedication. We have to approach life with a dedication to the journey God has called us to. Everything that is worth having cost something. Jesus said there would be a cost to be His disciple. The disciples had to leave everything they once knew and step out into the unknown. They could have just stayed comfortable with what they were doing, but doing something great with your life requires you to step out into greater things. If what you are stepping out into is greater than you then you know it is God sized, and that is a good place to be. Not comfortable, but good.
If we want to really step into our destiny and the dreams in our heart, we have to step out of our apathy. Nothing comes from doing nothing. If you aim at nothing you will hit it every time. Too many people are wandering in life not pioneering into their destiny. Destiny does not come to you, you have to step into it. Many people are living on auto-pilot, but auto-pilot only leads to crashing at some point. Life is too short to waste it on waiting for something to magically appear out of nowhere. Life is about stepping up and stepping out. We step up to the life that God has called us to and we step out in the opportunities that we have been given. Don’t let the curse of apathy and “one day” vex your life. You have been called to greater things than apathy. You have been given gifts and talents that are to be used not stored on the shelf of life, collecting dust.
What you put into life is what you get out of it. If you don’t take time to make time you will never have time. If you don’t invest your life into the right things you will never get a return out of it. What you deposit into life is what you are able to withdraw from it. The good thing about the bank account of life is that it compounds. The more you put into it the more it grows to return to you and the impact your life will have. Don’t live a poverty lifestyle. I am not talking about money. I am talking about the idea that you have nothing, that is what poverty is. Poverty does not have to do with money it has to do with our heart. Poverty is a lie that tries to trap you. But you were created for more than that. You and I were created by God Who has everything. He are His heirs that have been given the riches of His glory and power. Rise up and start living the life you were created to live. It is never too late to start doing what you were created to do. Stop putting off life and start living it. A year from today you will wish you would have started that project, dream, studying, planning, saving, etc…
Challenge:
1. What is it that you have been putting off doing that you know is in your heart to do?
2. Schedule a time this week that you will start putting things into motion in order to move forward.
