Thomas Edison said, “When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this–you haven’t.” The only way you truly lose is to give up. Sounds simple, but the truth is nothing is impossible until you give up. Successful people are those who don’t give up.
We all face obstacles on our journey to success. We all encounter resistance. The only way to be successful is to develop what I call “persistence in resistance.” You have to fight through the forces holding you back. Resistance is, in fact, one of the best teachers in our pursuit of success. Henry Ford said, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” If you can harness resistance, you can rise above it.
Many people who face obstacles become disillusioned, thinking something is wrong. Obstacles are not always a sign of things going wrong. The path of success is not all smooth seas and warm breezes. Be patient and persistent. Change does not come overnight. Over time, you will work through your challenges. Remember, those with the greatest stamina will finish the race. Develop an unwavering sense of determination so that you don’t give up when things get shaky…and things always get shaky. Radio personality Paul Harvey used to say, “You can tell you’re on the road to success; it’s uphill all the way.”
The only way you truly lose is to give up.
Whatever you are facing today… don’t give up…keep the faith…keep fighting!
Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
