Get off the bleachers and get into the game of faith. We need to be in it to win it when it comes to making a difference. We weren’t created to spectate; we were created to participate. You have been endowed with gifts and talents that are unique only to you. We impact people by being who we were designed to be. Someone, somewhere, needs you to do what God has specifically called you to do. Catherine of Siena said, “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.”
Luke 12:48 (NLT)
When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
When you use your gifts and talents, you will raise the faith of others. You may never know when or how, but be faithful to use them anyway. You never know which action today will change someone’s tomorrow. Often, it is the smallest deeds that make the biggest difference in a person’s life. Never underestimate your contribution.
The enemy always tries to belittle our gifts and talents. He tells us the lie that what we are doing doesn’t matter. This is his way of getting us off our game. It’s time to turn the tables and take charge! When you feel that you are less than God’s best option for the opportunity before you, identify that as an attack from the enemy and a sure sign that you are right where God wants you to be. The enemy’s lies are just blessings in disguise. Turn his attempts to dissuade you into fuel to propel you. Here’s how Jesus described the devil:
John 8:44 (NIV)
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Use your gifts and talents. Be who God created you to be. When you live in the fullness of who you are in Christ, you will always influence other people for the good of the Kingdom.
