God provides exactly what we need, when we need it. We have been going through 1 Chronicles 12 as a theme over the last week or so on my blog. Today I want to look at one particular verse that stands out to me and I think will encourage you as well! If you have not read the other blog posts about God’s provision do so here…
What You Need To Know About God’s Provision
1 Chronicles 12:19-22
19 Some of the tribe of Manasseh defected to David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (He and his men did not help the Philistines because, after consultation, their rulers sent him away. They said, “It will cost us our heads if he deserts to his master Saul.”)20 When David went to Ziklag, these were the men of Manasseh who defected to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu and Zillethai, leaders of units of a thousand in Manasseh. 21 They helped David against raiding bands, for all of them were brave warriors, and they were commanders in his army. 22 Day after day men came to help David, until he had a great army, like the army of God.
God sent David what he needed when he was on the run from Saul. I love how the last verse says, “Day after day men came to help David…” What a great picture of God’s faithfulness. He sends what we need and goes above and beyond. Day after day His mercies and provision are new for our lives. Each morning that we wake up is an opportunity for God to show Himself strong in us and through us. We need to be ready for His provision each and ever day. Instead of complaining about the next day, how about thanking God for it in advance? Instead of dreading the next day and what it may bring, how about believing God for His blessing in it?
Approach each day with an attitude of gratitude for what God may do. Never underestimate the power of one event, one opportunity, one meeting, one phone call. Take advantage of the moment by being prepared for what God may do. That means you need to be on your spiritual toes, and spiritually minded for what God may do. Don’t drop your head in despair each day, you may miss opportunities all around you that God is bringing your way! Rather, lift your head in victory and in the strength God has given you! Remember, God is for you, you are on His side, the winning team! Quit acting like you are on the losing team!
Psalm 3:3
But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
Walk in Godfidence that He will provide day after day exactly what you need. Speak blessing not curses over your life! God is a God that provides!
