“If man can take moldy bread and make penicillin out of it imagine what a loving God can do with you.” ~ Zig Ziglar
My friend…you are unique…just like everyone else. Think about that for a minute. The truth is that you are God’s masterpiece, His prize treasure. God’s greatest creation was not the earth, it was not the galaxies, it was not animals and nature…it is YOU! You have been given the highest honor from God. Check this out…
Psalm 8:3-9
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
5 You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
God has given you the greatest honor in all the universe. He has given you power, dominion, and the ability to rule with His strength. “Rule over what?” you may ask. Rule over the works of His hands. God has entrusted us with the seeds of greatness. He has empowered us to live with glory and honor under His leading and authority. Do you understand why you are so important now? Do you see your role in this earth? Do you see your potential through Christ?
Many people study the universe, they marvel at the vastness of the stars and planets, yet they miss the greatest miracle of all…THEMSELVES. You are the most valuable treasure to God. And your worth does not come from who you are…but who’s you are. You are a child of God, created in His unique image, to bear His characteristics in this life. Never allow the enemy to steal your importance. Don’t give him a foothold to destroy your confidence. Quit agreeing with his lies and deception that you are nothing special. Quit allowing negative thoughts to dominate your dominion. You have been created, called, and empowered to live with power. And with great power comes a great responsibility to use it for the good.
Here are some thoughts for you to think on…
1. See Yourself For Who You Really Are…
Quit looking in the mirror and seeing the wrong person. Look in the mirror and see yourself the way God sees you…His ultimate pride. Wake up each morning and affirm who you are in Christ. Don’t spend all your time talking about who you’re not, and start talking about who you are. Too many times we beat ourselves up by throwing ourselves under the bus with our negative self talk. Let me be a little hard here…It is dishonoring to God to talk negative about yourself. That’s right…quit calling God’s creation (You) worthless. Don’t call God’s creation (you) messed up and limited. See yourself as the person God has made you to be. You may not be there yet, and that is ok, but you’ll never get there if you keep slamming yourself. The way you talk about yourself is the person you WILL BECOME!
2. See God For Who He Really Is…
God is for you not against you. He is madly in love with you, not looking over your shoulder trying to destroy you. Don’t confuse God with the enemy. The Devil roams around seeking those he can devour, God roams around looking for worshipers. He is pursuing you out of love and compassion. God’s discipline in our life is not negative, it is LOVING.
Hebrews 12:5-6
5 “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
The fact that God is disciplining you and refining you is a picture of His love not His wrath. See God as a loving, yet, refining God. He will always work things out for your good as you seek Him and pursue His leading in your life.
3. See Others For Who They Really Are…
You can’t treat yourself well if you treat others poorly. The way one treats others is a great reflection of how they treat themselves. And they way you treat yourself is an indicator of how you will treat others…I hope you got that…that was good! We need to make sure that our relationships with others is honoring to them, to God, and to yourself. Follow the Golden Rule…don’t let your Golden Rule get tarnished. See others through the eyes of compassion, because they are worth it. Just as you have immense worth, so do others…everyone!
So who the heck do you think you are?…God’s PRIZE TREASURE!
