What would happen if we had an “acknowledgment meter” that measured our thoughts and actions throughout the day? Pretty scary thought isn’t it? Especially when we are flying through our busy day without even a thought cast in God’s direction.
Acknowledgment is a big deal throughout the scriptures. The stakes are high when it comes to our acknowledgment of Christ. I think our “acknowledgment meter” is in direct relation to our heart condition. The more we are impacted by something, the more it consumes us. The more we are consumed by it, the more we talk about it. The more we talk about it, the more others are impacted by it. So in the words of, Bonnie Raitt, “Let’s give them something to talk about.” Let’s be the ones that are not ashamed of Christ and the riches of His love. So unashamed that we carry the name of Jesus in our hearts and on our lips everywhere we go.
Praise Evangelism is at the heart of a Worship Revolutionist. They are consumed by a desire for others to know the same love they have come to know in Christ. They can’t keep silent about the fire that burns in them, and that is being stoked by the Holy Spirit.
Jeremiah 20:9
But if I say, “I will not mention His word or speak anymore in His name,” His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.
We are called to be carriers of God’s glory everywhere we go. In the Old Testament the only ones that could carry the Ark of the Covenant, in which God’s presence rested, were the Levites. They were the chosen priesthood that had direct access to God’s presence. The Levites were the only ones allowed to touch the Ark. In Old Testament times you would have to go to the high priests and ask them to relay your requests to God. Only the high priests had access to God in the temple. But when Jesus came to the earth He gave everyone access to God.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
This verse is so powerful considering the historical context it contains. Because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus, we, followers of Him, are now modern-day Levites. We get the privilege of carrying His presence. We have access to walk in His light as a chosen people. His presence rests in us, no longer in an ark. We have the presence of God within us so that wherever we go, there is the glory of the Lord.
