Whenever you have the courage to step out beyond your comfort zone and into the unknown, there is always the potential to discover new lands of opportunity. These new lands of opportunity appear through pursuing new ministries, stepping out and expanding relationships, and taking big and bold steps out of your fears.

A mother eagle understands courage. She stirs up her nest to make it uncomfortable for her little eaglets. Her purpose is to get the eaglets out of their comfort zone so that they can learn to fly. God, like the mother eagle, will stir the comfortable nests of our life. We need to embrace the motivation to move out on to greater things. By doing this, we develop our potential.

It is only outside of our comfort zone that we experience supernatural opportunities. God desires to push us out from the safe zone into the faith zone. When our comfort is more important that our purpose we miss out on God’s best. In my book, LIFE RULES I talk about never sitting still and allowing comfort to control you. Don’t get lazy. Keep yourself growing and exploring in life. Live a life that makes a difference, doing things that make a difference, with people who want to make a difference. Don’t sit around waiting for someone to clear a way for you. Go where others are not willing to go by being the initiator of your purpose. Don’t let procrastination and indecision control your life. Do something everyday that climbs over more obstacles so that you are one step closer to your goals and mission.

An aid group in South Africa sent a message to missionary and explorer David Livingston. It said, “Have you found a good road to where you are?” To this, Livingston replied, “If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don’t want them. I want men who will come even if there is no road at all.”

Never sit on the bus waiting for someone to take you somewhere, pull out the tools God has given you and start to make a path. I used to have a sign on my desk with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that read, “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

God has called us to be trailblazers who are venturing into uncharted territories. When you are living as a trailblazer there is no time to sit and squander your purpose.

 We are CALLED to be those that are squeezing out every ounce of LIFE we have been given.

Be careful not to live empty of purpose and die full of unused potential. The goal of life is to live full and then die empty by giving everything we have. While others are sitting around wasting their potential, be someone who is living with purpose. Don’t be a couch zombie watching T.V. all night, live fully alive making a difference with significance.

Always be looking for ways to grow in your purpose. Never think you have arrived and know it all. Those that stop growing, stop going! And when you stop going you stop growing! Surround yourself with opportunities that will stretch you out of your comfort zone. All growth takes place outside the comfort zone. If you never place yourself in situations that are bigger than you, you will never grow into your potential. Coach John Wooden said, “It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts.”

When you choose purpose over comfort you will climb up to a whole new level of your destiny!
