My very first worship album, The Reality, was released today on iTunes.
The album has 10 originally written songs. It captures the simple heart of a worshiper that knows “the reality” of what it means to worship. These songs were birthed out of experiences and inspiration over my early years as a young adult. The popular title, “Send Me” for example was written for a conference called, Exhale. Here is the story…
“Our team was planning a conference called Exhale that was about inhaling God’s presence then EXHALING His love out to the world. This was a conference designed to help raise up leaders to go out and take God’s word to those in need. As I began to prepare for leading worship at the conference I looked for songs about evangelism and “exhaling” but I came up empty. Nothing I came across was capturing the heart of what the conference was all about. For every 20 songs about how awesome God is, there was nothing that was written about asking God to send us out. So instead of looking for pre-existing songs I just decided to go to God’s word and write one. God brought me to Isaiah 6. I read about how Isaiah was crying out for God to send him out to reach others. Isaiah said, “Here I am Lord, send me, I will go.” So the words just came as I began to sit down with my guitar and sing out…
