When you look in the mirror what do you see? What value do you place on yourself? Many people look in the mirror and immediately devalue themselves based on their looks, weight, size, shape, and color. What you see in the mirror will determine your outlook in life.
You will never find value in life if you don’t value yourself. You will never enjoy life to the fullest if you don’t enjoy yourself. If you don’t value yourself, don’t expect others to value you. Do not expect to get the most out of life if you don’t get the most out of yourself. The most important opinion we have in life is the opinion we have of ourselves. How you see yourself is how you will see the world around you. We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are. If you constantly degrade yourself, you will never know true joy. If you are constantly thinking poorly of yourself, you will live a poor life. You will never outperform the way you view yourself.
Proverbs 23:7
As a man thinks in his heart so he is.
You have to see value in yourself before you can add value to others. If you don’t see your value, no one else will either. If you are not adding value to yourself, then you will eventually run out of things to add value to. It is impossible to live a happy life if you are unhappy with yourself. You have to see yourself the way God sees you. It is not about who you are, but who’s you are that matters. Never believe what others say about you over what God says about you!
Our WORTH is not in our ability to be great, but in the ABILITY of our great God.
We are God’s craftsmanship, hand-made by the designer. We have been created in the image of God Himself! Our worth is not based on our performance, it is based on our purpose. Henry David Thoreau said, “The tragedy of a man’s life is what dies inside of him while he lives.” Don’t allow yourself to die inside and miss out on the incredible life God has given you. You were created a winner. Never let anyone steal your joy by belittling your ambitions and purpose. I think Mark Twain summed it up when he said, “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
