Part 1 – The Power of Perspective
Part 2 – Seeing Through God’s Lens
Wisdom is Not About Intelligence
We often think of wisdom as intelligence or education. We admire those who have degrees, knowledge, and expertise. But God defines wisdom differently.
In Ephesians 5:15, Paul says:
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise.”
Why does Paul emphasize this? Because we often don’t live wisely. We get caught in emotional decisions, poor financial choices, destructive relationships, and distractions that pull us away from God’s best.
Think about the last time you made a decision that you later regretted. Was it based on wisdom, or was it based on emotion? Wisdom is the ability to pause, reflect, and seek God’s direction before moving forward.
Wisdom is About Perspective
Wisdom isn’t about how much you know—it’s about how you see.
- The wise don’t react impulsively; they pause and reflect.
- The wise don’t make decisions based on emotions; they seek God’s direction.
- The wise don’t fear uncertainty; they trust that God is leading them.
Sherlock Holmes saw what Watson couldn’t because he knew how to observe. In the same way, we need to observe life through the lens of faith.
Solomon’s Advice: Hold On to Wisdom
Proverbs 3:21-26 reminds us:
“Do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you… then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.”
What’s the result of wisdom? Peace. Confidence. Stability.
- Do you feel like life is a rollercoaster?
- Are your emotions dictating your faith instead of the other way around?
- Are you seeing through God’s eyes, or just reacting to what’s around you?
Wisdom gives you the ability to stay steady even when life gets chaotic. Ask God for wisdom today—not just more information, but His perspective. It will change everything.
