Today is the last lesson from The Net series I have been doing over the previous month. If you missed one of the lessons, go back and read through them.
Lesson #3 Nets Must Be Cast
Lesson #4 Nets Must Be Drawn
Let’s jump into the last lesson to learn about our faith being like a net:
Lesson #5 Nets Must Be REUSABLE
Faith is never ending, always needed, and consistently tested.
Nets are meant to be reused again and again. You don’t go fishing once, hopefully, get a great catch and then relax. Eventually, you have to get back out there and use the net to bring in the next catch. Our faith operates the same way. We have to keep stepping out and using our faith situation after situation.
I see many followers of Christ get tired from life, hoping they will arrive at a place with no challenges one day. But no one exists without challenges. No one is exempt from hard times. In fact, life will keep testing you day after day. That’s why Jesus encouraged us in this familiar verse:
John 16:33b
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
We will have challenges that will require our faith. Don’t allow yourself to get tired from the battle. Remind yourself…THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD. You will get through this with God as your guide. God will never call you to something you can’t do. If He has called you to it, He will see you through it. Keep your faith renewed day by day. This is why it is vital to start your day off with positive, faith-filled, life-giving routines that will prepare your heart for the challenges ahead.
I have heard it said that “Trouble is inevitable, but misery is optional.” Just because you are going through trials and tests does not mean you have to give up hope. The enemy wants nothing more for us that to lose hope, faith, and endurance in the midst of our battles. He is banking on you giving up, but don’t give him the satisfaction. Instead, stand strong in faith and trust God will do the impossible again and again.
Every day is an opportunity for God to show Himself strong through you. So ask yourself, “Is my faith making room for God to show up?” Then, wake up every morning with reusable faith ready for the day. Be the kind of person that wakes up saying, “Good morning, Lord!” Not “Good Lord, it’s morning?”
1 Peter 5:8,9
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
