Unlocking The Supernatural: How To Experience God’s Power In Your Life – Part 3

Part 3: Preparing and Waiting for God’s Supernatural Intervention

If you haven’t read Part 1 & Part 2 do so now.

Having established the importance of expecting the supernatural, the next step is preparation. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26), and part of expecting the supernatural involves actively preparing for God’s intervention in our lives.

Preparation: Digging Ditches in Faith

One of the best biblical examples of preparation for the supernatural comes from 2 Kings 3. The Israelites were in a dire situation, facing drought and the threat of enemy attack. The prophet Elisha told them to dig ditches in the valley because God was going to fill them with water. What’s remarkable is that they were told to dig the ditches before any rain was in sight. They had to prepare in faith, trusting that God would fulfill His promise.

In our lives, preparation might look like setting aside time for prayer, studying God’s Word, or even making practical arrangements for something we believe God is going to do. It’s about acting in faith, even when we can’t yet see the outcome.

Creating Space for God to Move

Preparation also involves creating space for God to move in our lives. This could mean making room in our schedules, our finances, or even our hearts for what God wants to do. It’s about being ready and available for God to use us in whatever way He sees fit.

For example, if you feel called to a certain ministry, start preparing now. Study, learn, and develop the skills you’ll need. Even if the opportunity hasn’t presented itself yet, your preparation is an act of faith that God will provide the opportunity in His perfect timing.

The Importance of Waiting on God

While we prepare, we must also learn to wait on God. Waiting doesn’t mean doing nothing—it means staying connected to God, trusting in His timing, and remaining faithful in the process. Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

The Hebrew word for “wait” in this verse, “kavah,” implies a binding together, like the strands of a rope. It’s about becoming tightly intertwined with God, aligning our hearts with His, and trusting that He will act at the right time. This kind of waiting requires courage and strength because it often involves holding on in faith even when we don’t see immediate results.

Preparing and waiting for God’s supernatural intervention is an active process. It involves digging ditches in faith, creating space for God to move, and staying closely connected to Him as we trust in His timing. As we live with this kind of expectancy and preparation, we position ourselves to experience the fullness of God’s supernatural power in our lives.
