So with this crazy drought weather we have had in Indiana, every ant in this state decided to take up residence in our kitchen. I have spent much time studying and tracking their patterns and cannot seem to find it. These little ants are tricky. So I have gone Terminator on them, and have blasted EVERYWHERE trying to take them out.
One thing I noticed about these ants, they have a small mindset. Not just because of their size but because of their lack of exploration. The other day Erin, my beautiful wife made some amazing dessert. We’ll, we went to bed and forgot about the measuring bowl that had the left-over sweet glaze sauce in it. I was completely full. The next morning I came down to the kitchen to get some coffee and I looked down to see about 250,000,000 (million) ants. However, they were not in the measuring bowl they were all attacking a small spoon on the counter that had just a tiny bit of glaze on it. I looked over to the measuring bowl that had like 2 full cups of glaze and not one ant. The spoon was sitting right next to the measuring bowl. Just 6 inches away these ants could have had the mecca of all glaze. They could have swam in a sea of sweet glaze, yet they decided to settle for a few drops on a spoon.
As I thought about this phenomenon of the ant situation, I couldn’t help but think this is how we live our life sometimes. We settle for a scarcity mentality when we need to have an abundance mentality. We settle for the left-overs when we have access to the main course. Why do we limit ourself when God is a God of unlimited power? And not only is He unlimited, but He pours out His power into us through the Holy Spirit. The Bible says…
Ephesians 3:20
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
Don’t think that you are powerless over your situation. God has given us the power of His Spirit to accomplish ALL He has called us to. As a matter of fact, God will never call us to something we can’t accomplish. If He has called us, He will give us ALL we need to complete it. Don’t be discouraged or beaten down with a scarcity mentality. Don’t let the present circumstances dictate your well-being. Rise up and begin to walk in step with the Holy Spirit, who will guide you in all truth and wisdom. Seek an abundance mentality from God. Jesus said…

You don’t have to settle for the lie that you don’t have what it takes. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you will never be used for great things. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you are powerless in your situation. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you have missed your opportunity. You don’t have to settle for the lie that it is too late. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you don’t have any gifts or talents. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you are invisible and no one cares. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you don’t fit it. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you have nothing to offer. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you will never become successful. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you are hopeless. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you are a screw-up. You don’t have to settle for the lie that you are destined for average or less.

Let God lift your head today so you can see your future the way He sees it. You don’t have to live with you head down in shame, despair, and hopelessness. Lift your eyes up to where your help comes from, Jesus Christ!
