Have you ever found yourself in a place of confusion, wondering where your joy went? It’s a common experience, isn’t it? But let me tell you something powerful: When you feel that way, it’s not that God’s presence has left you; rather, you might have drifted away from His presence.
Think about it. God promises never to leave or forsake us. He’s a constant, an unwavering presence in our lives. So when we feel lost or alone, it’s not because God has moved; it’s because we’ve allowed ourselves to be distracted, to turn away from Him. In short, God doesn’t move; we do.
You see, God is always there, right by our side, regardless of our circumstances. He never changes, never leaves us, never forsakes us. He’s like that faithful friend who never abandons us, no matter what. So when we cry out, “God, where are you?” His response is gentle but firm: “I’m right here. I’ve never left you.”
It’s us who move. We take our eyes off Him, get distracted by the worries and cares of this world, or even try to hide from Him in shame. But God remains faithful, unmoved by our wandering.
So the next time you find yourself in the midst of hardship or despair, don’t ask, “God, where are you?” Instead, ask yourself, “Where have I gone?” because, in the presence of the Lord, there is a joy—true, unshakeable joy that transcends our circumstances.
Let’s make a commitment today to keep our eyes fixed on Him and never stray from His presence. For in Him, we find hope, peace, and joy that surpasses all our understanding. Remember, the problem lies within us, not Him abandoning us.
