You may have heard it said that we worship before an audience of One. Though there is truth in that statement, I can’t help but think that our worship is not simply limited to an audience of One. We worship an audience of One, but we worship before the audience of the world. The world is watching. The world sees the example of what it means to be a follower of Christ through us, the Worship Leaders. Our worship is not only for God (even though that is the person of our worship). To think that our worship should be hidden in our heart, silently and invisibly shrinks the call we have to lift the name of Jesus high. We, as followers of Christ, have the ability to inspire the world by our worship to God. When worship is flowing from the heart of the people, people start flowing to the heart of God.

Psalm 40:3

He put a new song in my mouth a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

How will people see and fear and put their trust in the Lord? They will do this as a result of seeing revolutionists truly living a life of worship that inspires them. Worship Revolutionists are stepping up all around the world with a love song in their heart that is lived out loud with their lives. As people see true worship overflowing out of our lives, they will see a great big God to place their trust in. Our worship is on display for all to see and the impact is global.

Psalm 18:46-49

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior! He is the God Who avenges me, Who subdues nations under me, Who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me. Therefore I will praise You among the nations, O LORD; I will sing praises to Your name. 

I remember traveling to a church on the West Coast where I was invited to lead worship. During the Sunday morning service, worship was breaking out in a powerful way. You could feel the presence of God as genuine worship was coming forth from His people. I thought to myself, “If only the world could be a part of the service today, they would truly know how big and awesome our God is.” Then it hit me. We cannot wait for people to come to us as a church, we need to take the presence of God to the world. I realized that I had the responsibility to carry God’s presence to others so that they could see the great big God that I see. We cannot wait for the world to come to our church services in order to see the greatness of God. We are called to carry worship with us wherever we go, because we are worshipers. We are called to praise God among the people of the world and to not keep silent. Our worship is something we release, and it inspires and influences others to come to know this great God we serve. The greater our worship and love for God, the more we paint a picture of Who God truly is for the world to see. Our worship blesses others. Our worship gives others a glimpse of Who God is. But if we treat God with a small response, then we give others a small picture of a small God. If we have a big response to God, then we challenge others to see God as big as He really is.
