Our praise is something that shakes the heavenly realms. It is an act of war against the enemy’s lies and deception. It is going on the offensive in life and declaring His victory over your life and against the enemy.
In the Old Testament, the worshipers would be on the front lines of battle. Could you imagine being a singer standing in front of a guy with a spear as you charge the enemy? That seems like an intimidating situation. I think most of us would want to be standing behind the guy with the spear singing,
“Kill everyone in front of me!” in the key of G.
Yet God chose for praise to be even stronger than the spear. When we truly praise God, it is an act of breaking the power of the enemy over us and others. Praise is a powerful weapon in life. The more genuine our praise is, the greater His presence becomes.
“The more genuine our praise is, the greater His presence becomes.”
Whatever you are facing right now is smaller than God’s power. Stand and praise in the midst of your circumstances. Don’t tell God how big your problems are, but rather, tell your problems how big your God is. Let worship rise up within you and come out of your every breath.
2 Chronicles 20:20-22
Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise Him for the splendor of His holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the LORD, for His love endures forever.” As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.
