“God gives vision by the mile, but we must take it by the foot.” ~ Paul Johansson
God will plant a dream in your heart that seems insurmountable. In fact, if it seems easy you’re probably not fully listening to God’s destiny for your life. You can’t fulfill your dream without God’s help. He will give you a vision that is just out of reach. It will be beyond your budget. It will be beyond your abilities. It will be beyond who you know. It will be beyond what you’ve ever done. You get the point…basically, the calling God ultimately has on your life will be bigger than you.
Yet, in all of the greatness He has for you it must be lived out step by step. You’ll never know the full journey ahead and you certainly will not know how to complete the vision. If you knew how it was all going to happen you wouldn’t be ready for it, and it wouldn’t seem logical. Even though I had vision for my life at an early age, I never would have dreamed I would be where I am at right now. If my early 20 year old self would have seen the future I would have been confused and overwhelmed. But that is the very reason why God doesn’t reveal the whole journey on the front end. He wants us to experience every step along the journey.
We don’t go to our destiny, we grow into our destiny. It’s step by step that we develop and get what we need for the next step ahead. The most important step in living out your calling is the next one. Stop getting caught up in trying to figure out how you’re going to do everything. You don’t need to know the how, you just need to trust in God’s provision and timing.
“We don’t go to our destiny, we grow into our destiny.”
So, whatever you are facing right now, understand that you won’t know how it all will unfold, but that doesn’t mean it won’t. Raise your faith and begin to step out and see how God does it supernaturally. Remember, if you can fulfill your dream without supernatural intervention, you’re not dreaming big enough!
